Post-COVID economic impact on Agriculture in thi departament of Sololá

OBJECTIVE: to identify the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on agricultural producing families in the department of Sololá, identify the affected sectors, measure the level of unemployment and the economic effects generated. METHOD: The approach was mixed and descriptive, with a non-parametric random sample, survey, interview and field observation were applied for the collection of data that were statistically processed, which were compared with the qualitative results by means of a matrix table until the expected results were achieved. RESULT: COVID-19 had a 100% negative impact in the municipalities investigated, the most affected sectors were peasants, farmers and resellers in both local and national markets, as an effect of the impact on the agricultural economy, an increase in unemployment was noted. CONCLUSION: COVID-19 caused considerable losses in agriculture, increased unemployment and poverty in the municipalities investigated.
