Office of midwives in the births of boys and girls in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Quiché

OBJECTIVE: escribe the care provided by midwives in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Quiché, to assist in the births of boys and girls under their care in their responsible communities. METHOD: descriptive ethnographic, together with direct observation techniques and in-depth interviews, the research was undertaken to investigate how the births in charge are attended to in their immediate environment. RESULTS: in the training given by the health center of Santa Cruz del Quiché, the midwives socialize means that allow giving life to a new being, through their assistance according to their ancestral knowledge, in the different communities in Santa Cruz del Quiché, to reduce infant mortality and mothers; Likewise, the service they provide in the different cures they carry out with users who require their support. CONCLUSION: the job of midwives allows for the timely care of pregnant mothers, in a vocational manner as an innate gift for guidance from prenatal control to birth and quarantine; which allows avoiding maternal and infant deaths.
