Abstract

Pelvic ring fractures in pediatric patients require a high-energy mechanism for their occurrence and differ significantly from those in adults. Therefore, it is important to consider the unique characteristics of pediatric bone, which influence the nature of the injury. Early diagnosis is essential, as these fractures are often associated with polytrauma, placing the patient at higher risk. Prompt, comprehensive management is crucial to maintaining optimal conditions and preventing potentially fatal complications. These injuries must be accurately classified based on the patient’s age and the characteristics of the triradiate cartilage, which will guide both initial and definitive treatment methods. Below, we present a clinical case exemplifying these features.
