Abstract

Anterior tibial tuberosity fractures in childhood are rare (approximately 3% of all proximal tibia fractures), but their incidence has risen in recent years, likely due to increased participation in sports activities among this age group. This fracture is most common in children aged 12 to 16 years. It is crucial to identify the associated anatomical structures and underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Treatment options include surgical and non-surgical approaches, aiming to achieve joint congruence, restore the extensor mechanism’s function, and prevent proximal tibial physis damage. Understanding fracture management and potential complications is crucial for providing appropriate clinical care and preventing disability.
